Every brand of PET blowing machine has its own quirks and heating profiles. But at the end of the day, the physics of heating a preform doesn’t change. That’s why we build our IR lamps to be simple, drop-in replacements. We’ve focused on the three things that actually keep you from pulling your hair out: the fit, the power, and the heat. We’ve managed to make them work with over 95% of the equipment out there. Getting the fit right Most plants use standard tube lengths and connectors—usually R7s or SK15. It sounds basic, but if a tube is off by even 2mm, it won’t seat. You’re stuck. We build ours to tight tolerances so you don’t have to mess around with your lamp holders or “make it fit” with a hammer. Plus, we keep them in stock. No one wants to wait weeks for a “custom” tube when the line is down. Power and Voltage Depending on what you’re running, you might need a standard 220V or a high-output 400V setup. If you’re in a high-volume plant and need those cycle times to be lightning-fast, 400V is the way to go. It ramps up the heat quickly. Just a heads-up: double-check your wiring and power supplies first. If the load is too heavy for your setup, you’ll just burn through the lamps. The tech inside We use heavy-wall quartz glass. Why? Because rapid cycling creates a lot of thermal shock, and cheap glass just snaps. We also use a halogen cycle. It stops the tungsten filament from evaporating and clouding up the glass, which keeps the heat hitting the plastic exactly where it should. Some of our tubes even have special coatings. Instead of just scorching the surface of the PET, the heat actually sinks deep into the wall. We sell these in bulk for a reason. One dead lamp can kill your entire throughput.
