You know those old-school bathroom heat lamps? The ones with the big, glowing bulbs? They’re a pain. They burn out way too fast, and half the time, they just heat up the air near the ceiling while you’re still shivering in your towel. We decided to do things differently with mirror infrared heaters.
How it actually works
Here is the thing about heat: it likes to rise. Traditional heaters try to warm up the whole room, which is a waste of energy. Mirror infrared is different. It uses short-wave radiation to send heat straight to you. We put a reflective mirror coating behind the heating element to focus that warmth into a beam. It feels instant. You step under it, and you’re warm. No waiting around for the room to catch up.
Dealing with the steam
Bathrooms are basically torture chambers for electronics. Between the steam and the occasional splash, most heaters just give up and short circuit. That’s why we’re obsessed with the seals. We use high IP ratings to make sure moisture stays far away from the guts of the machine. If the chassis isn’t tight, you’re looking at a tripped breaker or fried wiring. We don’t let that happen.
The honest trade-offs
Nothing is perfect. Because short-wave infrared is so concentrated, it can feel a bit “stinging” if you stand too close. It’s powerful stuff. The trick is all in the placement. You have to be smart about where they go in your ceiling so you don’t end up with annoying hotspots. The good news? We designed these to be drop-in replacements. You can use the same wiring as your old fixtures, and the power draw is much more stable. Just double-check that your bathroom’s wiring can handle the wattage so you aren’t popping the breaker every time you take a shower.
