The Deal with High-Wattage Quartz
The SR 8 uses shortwave infrared radiation to get those PET preforms ready. To make that happen, we use high-voltage quartz envelopes. Why? Because the filament needs to hit the right temperature almost instantly. That quick jump in heat is the only way to keep up with high-speed blowing cycles. But here’s the catch: if your voltage is jumping around or the wattage isn’t exactly where it should be, you’ll see it in the product.
